We are currently looking for Pile Driver / Welders to join our Geotechnical Services team. Qualified candidates must have at least 1 year of related experience including knowledge of driving sheet, H, and concrete piles, and possess welding skills in stick, MIG, TIG, and oxy‑acetylene procedures. Candidates must be D1.1 or D1.5 certified, hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and be able to work at heights up to 150 feet.
Travel throughout PA, MD, DE, & DC is required.
High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
Experience Requirement1+ years pile driving experience, mechanical aptitude, structural welding abilities, and construction experience.
Special SkillsPile driving experience and drill rig experience are helpful; AWS D1.1 welding certification is beneficial.
Travel RequirementOpen to travel in the Mid‑Atlantic area; required throughout PA, MD, DE, & DC.
Pay$20.00/hr – $28.00/hr (Based on experience)
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Welding certification (D1.1 or D1.5) and pile driving experience required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Connect hoses and whip checks.
- Assist in loading and unloading casing and drill steel.
- Prepare welder wear steel.
- Align drill location and set proper stud layout.
- Install lagging plates and Hilti bolts; use chainsaw/safety equipment properly.
- Assist in assembly of strand tendons, regrouting, etc.
- Act as spotter for drill and equipment moves.
- Weld studs and miscellaneous items using proper torch.
- Climb piling leads up to 160’ to position piles.
- Use burning torch to cut piles.
- Use tools to dig, pry, hammer, and shovel.
- Carry, load, unload, and stack material.
- Dig with picks, shovels, air hammers, jack hammers, and other construction equipment as required.
- Climb embankments and ladders to reach work area.
- Hook and rig material and equipment for crane movement.
- Measure and mark pile with tape.
- Cut concrete piles with a concrete saw and timber piles with a chainsaw.
- Record statistical data for load tests and related piling operations.
- Clean up project site of debris.
- Lift up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level and 30 pounds above shoulder level throughout the shift.
- Work at heights up to 150 feet.
- Continuous standing and walking required during the shift.
- Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Climb ladders, bend, squat, kneel, and crawl.
- Work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid weather.
- Have acceptable corrected vision and hearing.
- Reach, lift, and perform work above shoulder height; work on uneven surfaces and confined spaces.
