Pipefitter – Colonial Webb

Colonial Webb is looking for Plumbing/Pipefitter mechanics to assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.

We want someone on our team who can teach, coach, and provide direction ride apprentices and helpers to work safely and deliver quality. We work safely and encourage others to do so at Colonial Webb!

  • Location:

    2820 Ackley Avenue, Richmond, VA 23228.
  • Environment:
    Fabrication Shop.
  • Hours:

    Mondayirithe Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
A Day In The Life
  • Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using necessary tools (e.g., ruler, spirit level, plumb bob).
  • Cut and thread pipes using necessary tools (e.g., pipe cutters, port‑a‑band saw, reciprocating saw, torch, pipe‑threading machine).
  • Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals (iron, steel, brass, copper, glass, vitrified clay, and plastic) using hand tools and power tools.
  • Join pipes by using proper supplies (screws, fittings, solder, brazing, grooving, plastic solvent, welding wire).
  • Work safely, encourage others to do so, and comply with applicable health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures and practices.
You Should Have
  • Work experience as a Pipefitter for commercial construction projects (Journeyman level experience preferred but not required).
  • Experience with layout drafting and ability to read and work from drawings.
  • Ability to direct the work of a helper or apprentice.
  • Knowledge of pipefitter equipment, power tools, and fabrication methods.
  • Knowledge of basic construction/shop math.
  • Reliable source of transportation to and from work.
