CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients.
A Brief OverviewThe Locksmith is responsible for skilled repair, and service of locks, electronic access equipment and related hardware. The position may also be responsible for key making. A Locksmith must be able to perform and/or assist in any routine or emergency function of the locksmith position. The role deals in the mechanical actions and correct operations of all locks, keys, keyless, or similar devices, including electronic access equipment and related hardware.
WhatYou Will Do
- Performs preventative and/or corrective maintenance on new and existing locks, locking controls, doors, and other equipment in accordance with work orders or direction from Facility Manager and/or Supervisor.
- Installs, repairs and maintains pneumatic locking systems, door positioning sensors, electric door, and manual and electronic panic devices openers.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains electro-magnetic latching systems; wires and installs card reading and scanning devices.
- Establishes key lock and related systems, which permit controlled access to buildings, and ensures security.
- Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts locks; checks keys and locks for wear and repairs or replaces them.
- Responds to emergency requests regarding problems with building locking devices and services within established standards of promptness.
- Performs required administrative tasks pertaining to the position, such as work order documentation and general record keeping; all work performed must conform to standards per the contractual agreements with the client, as well as standards for quality and accuracy and all OSHA codes and regulations.
- Conducts preventive and corrective lock and safe maintenance work orders.
- Maintains all required records and logs.
- Submits clear, legible, and complete information on all work performed.
- Enters data into computerized maintenance management system.
- Stays abreast of advanced Locksmith technologies and trends.
- Follows tool control policies, lock control policies, and all OSHA guidelines.
- Communicates all task and project timelines in a timely manner to Facility Manager and/or Supervisor.
- Ensures proper key control is established and followed by all staff.
- Completes all required compliance, safety, and developmental training as assigned.
- Assists in training other technicians in some basics of the trade, providing mentorship, oversight, and direction.
- This position may be required to drive for the Company using either a Company vehicle or a Personal or Rental vehicle to conduct Company business more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.
- Completes all documentation required in compliance with CGL's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years locksmith or maintenance experience in commercial environments preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
- Team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to succeed.
- Provide outstanding customer service to meet client needs.
- Hold licenses/certifications as required by local, state, and federal regulations; certifications may be required.
- Self-motivated, able to multitask and prioritize, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; can interact effectively with clients.
- Commit to ongoing education related to certifications based on current technology in security locking systems.
