Territory RepresentationRepresent BD in the geographic area assigned by the Company—Richmond to Roanoke, VA.
Responsibilities- Attain sales goals within the designated territory and budget.
- Grow sales of current accounts and establish new accounts.
- Position yourself as a product specialist, presenting, educating, and providing in‑services on product usage to surgeons, OR staff, and other individuals.
- Provide on‑site technical support during procedures to ensure accurate product usage.
- Train and educate physicians and hospital staff on the use of the products.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of BD products, channels, and distribution methods.
- Adhere to territory sales and profitability goals.
- Develop new prospects and establish customers.
- Advise customers on new and current products, backorders, order status, pricing structure, company policy changes, and forecasts for additional needs.
- Achieve timely solutions to customer complaints.
- Keep promises and appointments, exercising courtesy and ethical manners at all times.
- Attend customer meetings and trade shows, giving detailed post‑convention reports on attendance, competitors present, product introductions, and recommendations for subsequent shows.
- Establish products as the standard for bid accounts through surgeon specifications.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years sales experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Detailed understanding of the needs/analysis approach to sales.
- Understanding of the product buyer concept.
- Understanding of contract administration.
- Understanding of group purchasing principles, research, formulation, and proposal recommendation.
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
- Criminal background clearance satisfactory to BD.
- Compliance with medical facility access requirements, including drug screening.
- Availability for in‑field daily travel (including overnight).
- Local candidate only; no relocation available.
- Medical sales experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
We require a minimum of 4 days of in‑office presence per week to maintain culture and operations, while providing flexibility for work‑life balance. Remote or field‑based positions have different arrangements indicated in the posting.
