Territory Manager Richmond West

As a Territory Manager, you will represent BD in a specific geographical area assigned by the Company – from Richmond to Roanoke, VA. Your role goes beyond selling products; you’ll partner with public and private‑sector customers to understand their needs and improve patient lives.

Duties
  • Responsible for attaining sales goals established within the designated territory and budget.
  • Responsible for growing sales of current accounts and establishing new accounts.
  • Position yourself as a product specialist; present, educate, and provide in‑services on the process/procedure of accurately using the products to surgeons, OR staff, and other individuals.
  • Providing on‑site technical support during procedures to ensure accurate product usage.
  • Training and educating physicians and hospital staff on the use of the products.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge and capabilities of the company’s products, channels and methods of distribution.
  • Responsible for meeting territory sales and profitability goals.
  • Responsible for developing new prospects and establishing customers.
  • Advises customers of new and current products, backorders, order status, pricing structure, company policy changes, and forecasts for additional needs.
  • Achieves timely solutions to customers’ complaints.
  • Keeps promises and appointments; exercises courtesy and ethical manners at all times.
  • Attends customers’ meetings and trade shows. Gives detailed post‑convention report: number in attendance, competitors present, product introductions, and recommendations for subsequent shows.
  • Establishes products as the standard for bid accounts through surgeon specifications.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years sales experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and planning skills.
  • Detailed understanding of the needs/analysis approach to sales.
  • Understands the product buyer concept.
  • Understands contract administration.
  • Understands principles of group purchasing to include research, formulating and recommending proposals.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company.
  • Must possess and maintain a criminal background satisfactory to BD.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including regular or periodic drug screenings with a satisfactory result.
  • In the field daily and including overnight travel.
  • Local candidates only, no relocation available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical sales experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Additional Information
