Secondary Counselor - Camps

Overview

We are hiring for Summer Camp Counselors. We are looking for Secondary Counselors (16-20 years old) for our Outdoor Youth Programs. Spend your Summer months in the beautiful outdoors teaching campers how to fish, kayak, rock climb, hike and more. Our Outdoor Adventure and Young Adventurers camp are the perfect fit for kids looking to learn new skills each day. Our main goal is to help campers build a positive relationship with the outdoors.

Applicants must work well in groups, be responsible, adaptive, and outgoing. Flexible hours, competitive pay, and a fun work environment. The job duties include keeping campers safe in the outdoors, planning summer camp games, and helping to create a fun week.

Location:

Richmond

• Keep campers safe in outdoor settings
• Plan and lead summer camp games and activities
• Assist with daily supervision and program delivery

• Preferred work experience:
  Experience that complements being a camp counselor, such as:
  Camp Counselor, Raft Guide, Lifeguard, etc.
• Helpful experience, but not required:
  Knowledge of fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and experience working or interacting with youth
• Ability to work well in groups, be responsible, adaptive, and outgoing
• Ability to meet the physical demands of outdoor activities in the summer
• First aid and CPR-certified preferred for Secondary Counselors (if not certified, CPR class can be organized)

• Salary:
  Starting at $400.00 per week; salary may depend on skills and/or qualifications
• Pay range: $400 - $450 per week
• Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
• Background check:
  Must be able to pass a 3-year background check; any job offer will be based on results
