Brandermill Animal Hospital is seeking a Full Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

We are searching for a candidate with strong client education and patient care skills who thrives in a fast-paced team environment. The primary responsibility of the Veterinary Assistant is to advocate for our patients and work with our clients to ensure excellent care for their pets. The ideal candidate demonstrates empathy in person and over the phone, with strong relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities include client education, animal handling, patient treatment, medical record management, lab sampling and processing, prescription filling and invoicing. As a representative of our hospital, a veterinary assistant must prioritize courtesy, compassion, and a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, patients, and coworkers. Previous animal handling and customer service experience is required. Experience with Idexx Cornerstone is a plus.

• Provide client education and compassionate patient care
• Handle animals safely and effectively
• Support patient treatment and monitoring
• Manage medical records and documentation
• Perform lab sampling and processing
• Fill prescriptions and assist with invoicing
• Maintain a courteous, compassionate, and positive attitude with clients, patients, and coworkers

• Have a desire to make a difference in the lives of patients and their people
• Be solution-oriented, adaptable, and resilient when faced with challenges
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence and communicate with confidence
• Possess high attention to detail and manage multiple priorities

• Previous animal handling and customer service experience
• Strong client education and patient care skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
• Experience with Idexx Cornerstone is a plus
