Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center, named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single‑level facility features 200 single‑occupancy rooms across four nursing units.
Shifts Available- Day Shift – 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Evening Shift – 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
- Overnight Shift – 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Assist with meals and escort residents to the dining hall.
- Make rounds regularly, answer call lights promptly, and respond courteously.
- Complete all required paperwork/computerized documentation for charting assessments.
- Provide each resident the necessary care in accordance with his/her plan of care and ADL record.
- Monitor and observe residents’ physical, mental, and emotional status, and report changes to the Charge Nurse.
- Current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADL).
- Physical ability to turn, bend, and lift non‑ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.
- Experience in a long‑term care or adult geriatric setting.
