Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures high quality, patient-centered care and coordinates unit functions during shifts. The CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care according to policies, serves as a resource, and models commitment to vision and mission.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary
  • Operationalize current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives
  • Recommend and implement courses of action for new staff, training, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage practical aspects of labor to meet patient care needs
  • Support proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • At least 2 years previous experience in acute care
