Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single‑level facility features 200 single‑occupancy rooms across four nursing units. SBVCC is recruiting for a Floor Nurse with Charge Nurse responsibilities for the 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift and will include a shift every other weekend.
The nurse is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care for our veteran residents.
- Administer medications and treatment accurately for assigned residents.
- Consult with physicians; receive, record and implement orders and schedules appointments.
- Document residents’ health changes via acute care nurse’s notes and shift change nursing reports.
- Formulate plans of care for new residents and prepare all required reports and documentation.
- Conduct daily rounds; observe and evaluate the physical and emotional status of assigned residents and take necessary actions to ensure their health and well‑being.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for nursing care; consult with Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager as needed.
- Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in Virginia.
- Nursing experience in a long‑term care or adult geriatric setting.
