Overview
We are seeking a skilled and patient-centered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our General Otolaryngology team. This outpatient-only role focuses on providing comprehensive ENT care to a diverse patient population. The APP will independently evaluate and manage common ENT conditions, perform office-based procedures, support continuity of care, and contribute to a positive, efficient clinic experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their clinical day, values relationship-based outpatient care, and wants to practice at the top of their license in a supportive, collaborative environment.
EssentialJob Functions
- Provide independent evaluation and management of common ENT conditions in an outpatient setting.
- Perform office-based ENT procedures and support continuity of care.
- Contribute to a positive, efficient clinic experience and collaborative team environment.
- Coordinate patient care across the continuum (inpatient, ambulatory, home health) as applicable.
- Develop and evaluate educational materials and teaching interventions for staff, patients/caregivers, and the community.
- Foster skill development of others and mentor colleagues as part of professional leadership and collaboration.
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible; license to practice as NP in the specialty area in the Commonwealth of Virginia; prescriptive authority when required; continued licensure as applicable.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a RN.
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program specific to area of practice. Applicants with current advanced practice licensure may be within one semester of graduation from obtaining an MSN degree or higher, which must be completed within six months of hire to continue employment.
- Licensure/certification requirements for hire and continued employment as applicable to the specialty.
- Experience in academic health care and two (2) years within the specialty practice area Advanced Practice Nursing Role or Clinical Leadership experience preferred.
- Physical:
Lifting 50-100 lbs; exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances. - Activities:
Prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching, repetitive motion. - Mental/Sensory:
Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking. - Emotional:
Fast-paced and changing environment with multiple priorities; ability to handle frequent, intense patient interactions.
