Overview
We are seeking a skilled and patient-centered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our General Otolaryngology team. This outpatient-only role focuses on providing comprehensive ENT care to a diverse patient population. The APP will independently evaluate and manage common ENT conditions, perform office-based procedures, support continuity of care, and contribute to a positive, efficient clinic experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their clinical day, values relationship-based outpatient care, and wants to practice at the top of their license in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Independently evaluate and manage common ENT conditions in an outpatient setting.
- Perform office-based procedures and support continuity of care.
- Contribute to a positive, efficient clinic experience and practice at the top of the license in a collaborative environment.
- Engage in performance of advanced clinical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning in alignment with current standards of practice.
- Support patient advocacy, education, and coordination of care across the care continuum.
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible; licensed to practice as NP in the specialty area in the Commonwealth of Virginia; prescriptive authority when required.
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program specific to area of practice.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an RN; experience in the specialty practice area and/or healthcare leadership is preferred.
- Educational/Professional
Experience:
Academic healthcare experience and two (2) years within the specialty practice area as an Advanced Practice Nurse or in a clinical leadership role is preferred. - Eligibility to obtain or maintain an active APRN license and credentials per medical staff by-laws.
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program; applicants may be within one semester of graduation with the MSN or higher, provided completion within six months of hire.
Clinical decision-making in collaboration with physicians and daily prioritization of activities. Time spent in patient care and related duties is largely self-determined. Supervisory responsibilities, if applicable, are not listed here.
Licensure & Certification- Current RN licensure in Virginia; NP licensure in the specialty area in Virginia; prescriptive authority where required.
- Experience
REQUIRED:
Minimum of two (2) years experience as an RN. - Experience PREFERRED:
Academic healthcare experience; two (2) years within the specialty practice area as Advanced Practice Nursing role or clinical leadership role.
- Physical:
Lifting 50-100 lbs; exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances; prolonged standing; frequent bending; walking; climbing; reaching; repetitive motion. - Mental/Sensory:
Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking. - Emotional:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes and multiple priorities.
