Job Summary And Qualifications
The Intermediate Care RN Registered Nurse (PCU) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre‑operative and post‑operative nursing care and serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
We are seeking a highly‑skilled and energetic RN to deliver quality and compassionate nursing care while collaborating with a multi‑disciplinary team in our critical care step‑down unit.
What you will do in this role:
- Deliver patient‑centered nursing care and participate in patient and family education.
- On the critical care step‑down unit, monitor heart rhythms, titrate select drips, and utilize critical thinking to manage your patient.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers and patient care staff to create and implement a care plan.
- Use computerized documentation systems to monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
- Coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain cultural awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co‑workers and other customers.
- Attend the Critical Care Internship for growth.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 1 year of medical‑surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
