We are seeking a highly-skilled and compassionate RN to join the pediatric unit and to deliver exceptional patient care to children from birth through their late teens and into early adulthood. If you are looking for a supportive and teamwork oriented environment, apply today.
Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered care to infants, children, adolescents and young adult patients who present with a variety of acute and chronic conditions and disabilities.
- Work closely with pediatric intensivists, pediatricians, therapists (occupational, speech and respiratory), registered dieticians, pharmacists and case managers/social workers to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient’s specific needs.
- Respond to conditions such as diabetes, asthma, spinal corrections, orthopedic procedures, concussions and fractures, general pediatric surgery needs, croup, respiratory distress, pneumonia, and more by delivering standard medications, performing tests, regularly monitoring and recording vital signs, and assessing improvement.
- Use computerized documentation systems to monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions throughout their stay from admission to discharge.
- Maintain cultural and values awareness when interacting with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- 1 year of nursing experience in a pediatric unit preferred.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
