Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Wound Care Nurse to join our team. The Wound Care Nurse establishes standards of care and clinical competencies to meet rehabilitative patient wound and ostomy care needs. Consults for complex wounds and ostomy patients and takes referrals from physicians and nurses according to the referral criteria of SAI and WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse Certification) standards.

Leads the development, coordination, and monitoring of the hospital's wound care program in order to improve clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • The Wound Care Nurse establishes standards of care and clinical competencies to meet rehabilitative patient wound and ostomy care needs.
  • Consults for complex wounds and ostomy patients and takes referrals from physicians and nurses according to the referral criteria of SAI and WOCN standards.
  • Leads the development, coordination, and monitoring of the hospital's wound care program to improve clinical outcomes.
Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 2 years RN experience in the clinical setting
Education/Certifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • RN licensure in the Commonwealth of VA required
  • BSN in nursing preferred or evidence of pursuing on a continuing basis
  • AHA BLS HCP certification
  • WOCN certification required or actively pursuing and completion expected within 1 year of hire
