Join to apply for the Registered Nurse RN Inpatient Oncology Med Surg role at CJW Medical Center (Johnston‑Willis Hospital – part of HCA Healthcare). The role is full‑time, night shift, and located in a 24‑bed inpatient oncology medical‑surgical unit. A sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 is offered.

As an RN, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with state and specialty standards, collaborate with medical providers and the care team, and act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers.

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Work closely with oncology‑certified nurses and cancer experts at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient's needs.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action if unintended responses occur.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
• 1 year of oncology medical‑surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
• Certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
