ER RN Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Richmond, Virginia (ZIP 23219) - Virginia healthcare jobs
• Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Adult Emergency Room
• Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/24/2025 - End: 2/23/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020-$2070
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 64 beds, daily census 60-80, up to 1000 ER visits/day
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience in a Level I Trauma Center
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (must be current at submission)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, TNCC
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
• BSN preferred
• Ability to float within scope as needed
• Fingerprinting required prior to start (per Virginia code)
• 2 professional references required

ER RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to adult patients with trauma, burns, medical, surgical, and psychiatric conditions
• Perform advanced clinical procedures: arterial line management, ventilator/BiPAP/CPAP management, vasopressor administration, and conscious sedation
• Conduct rapid assessment, triage, and intervention for high-acuity patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and more
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation using EPIC
• Participate in orientation modules and ongoing clinical education
• Comply with facility policies, including natural nail policy
