As a Registered Nurse (RN) on our Transitional Cardiac Unit, you will support our 12-bed telemetry unit with a typical 1:3 patient ratio. Our unit provides high acuity care to a wide variety of cardiac and medical patients. You will also provide clinical and administrative support for patients requiring TPA infusion, clot busting, sheath arterial management, and cardiac surgery.

Your primary role is to instruct and educate patients and their families.

• Administer prescribed medications using the 5 rights of medication administration, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Interpret telemetry strips, identify cardiac rhythms, and implement interventions for dysrhythmias.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Coordinate care among disciplines, including discharge planning with the healthcare team.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or hold a Compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
