OverviewLocated on the 11th floor of the Adult Outpatient Pavilion, our Multispecialty Surgery & Wound Care Clinic provides specialized care to patients age 14 and above. We serve patients throughout their diagnostic and surgical journey and manage and treat a variety of patient wounds including ulcers, non-healing wounds, surgical wounds, skin tears, ostomy and wound vac. We offer wound care education and diligently assist our patients in obtaining supplies needed for their care.
Our team of RNs, LPNs and CMAs works collaboratively to their full scope of practice to best serve our patients. Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
- Integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family.
- Assist the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.
- Provide direction, education, and begin to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
- Deliver and accurately document direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
- Licensure, certification or registration varies depending on the incumbent's employment background and transitional assignment.
- LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible licensure.
- Current LPN Licensure in Virginia.
- AHA BLS Certification or equivalent.
Required:
varies based on transitional duty assignment.
Preferred:
Experience as an LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice.
- Required:
Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing. - Preferred: N/A.
Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignment.
