Position: Housing Stability Intake Coordinator

Southside Community Development & Housing Corporation is seeking a Housing Stability Intake Coordinator to support Richmond‑area residents facing housing instability. If you’re passionate about helping families stay housed and want to make a real community impact, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

The Housing Stability Intake Coordinator is the first point of contact for tenants seeking help. This role involves intake assessments, gathering documentation, coordinating appointments, and helping clients connect with financial coaching and community resources.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail‑oriented, compassionate, and passionate about supporting housing stability in Richmond.

Full-Time, Salary: $40, annually

What You’ll Do:

Client Intake & Assessment
  • Conduct initial intake interviews and assess client eligibility.
  • Collect and verify client and landlord documentation.
  • Assist clients with forms, budgeting tools, and credit report access.
Program Coordination
  • Enter and maintain client information in database systems.
  • Schedule financial‑coaching appointments.
  • Provide referrals to SCDHC programs and community partners.
Communication & Relationship Building
  • Respond to client, landlord, and partner inquiries professionally.
  • Communicate program requirements and updates clearly.
  • Build relationships with local landlords, nonprofits, and community resources.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client files.
  • Prepare data for reporting and outcomes tracking.
  • Support follow‑up to ensure rent‑repayment and housing‑stability goals.
Team & Community Support
  • Support Financial Coaches with administrative tasks.
  • Assist with Housing Stability workshops and outreach activities.
  • Participate in team meetings and process‑improvement efforts.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service, intake, administrative support, or social services, preferably in a nonprofit or social service setting.
  • Knowledge of eviction prevention and diversion strategies and services.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Ability to conduct interviews and assess client needs.
Preferred
  • Experience in housing programs, eviction diversion, case management, or human services.
  • Knowledge of Richmond‑area housing and community resources.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (not required).
