Körber Technologies, Inc., a leading Sales and Service company supporting the North American tobacco industry, is currently seeking an Operational Planner. The Operations Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to align with customer demand and organizational capacity. This position ensures efficient utilization of resources, supports achievement of on-time delivery goals, and contributes to overall manufacturing performance.
The role requires demonstrated experience with SAP and a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, including scheduling, materials management, and process coordination.
- You will develop, maintain, and adjust detailed production schedules in SAP based on demand forecasts, customer orders, material availability, and operational disruptions such as shortages, downtime, or priority changes
- Generate and release production orders, ensure timely execution of planned work orders, and support MRP runs by troubleshooting planning exceptions and errors in SAP
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, production, Customer Service, and Sales teams to ensure material availability, accurate order promise dates, and efficient handling of expedite requests
- Act as the liaison between departments related to planning activities to ensure smooth and aligned operational processes
- You will analyze capacity and resource constraints and recommend adjustments to meet production targets while maintaining optimal inventory levels
- Maintain deadlines and confirmation rates in line with current quality assurance requirements
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date master data and planning parameters within SAP
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lead time reduction and inventory optimization, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures
- You have a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business, project management, or a related field
- 2+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Proficient in SAP, with a strong focus on MRP functionality
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and planning/reporting tools
- Strong analytical, systematic, and proactive problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and adapt in a fast‑paced environment
- Knowledge of BOMs, routings, production lead times, and technical drawings
