Level II VT/MT for Shipyard Contract Assignment – ATS Chesapeake
Part‑time contract assignment at the Chesapeake, VA office for up to six months with eligibility for full‑time status thereafter. Pay: DOE, competitive per diem during the initial contract phase.

- Perform VT and MT examinations of materials in accordance with procedures, codes, and specifications.
- Set up and utilize NDT testing equipment.
- Operate handheld grinder to remove detected discontinuities.
- Familiar with scope and limitations of assigned methods, exercise OJT and guidance of trainees.
- Interface with department managers and clients to determine work scope and priorities to meet customer expectations.
- Prepare written instructions and organize/report examination results.
- Work independently and support team members.
- Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned.
- Actively participate in ATS and client safety programs.
- Level II VT/MT technician with NDT license; documentation of education, training, and experience in the applicable NDT method(s).
- Working knowledge of industrial environments and general manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to effectively communicate with other departments and customers.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Additional NDT certifications are a plus.
- NAVSEA and/or shipyard work experience a plus.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a required extensive background check for shipyard access.
- Must be able to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Background check and U.S. Person requirement per ITAR (U.S. citizens, green card holders, refugee status, or asylum status only).
- Wear required safety equipment.
- Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man‑baskets, etc.
- Operate in confined spaces requiring crawling, stooping, climbing.
- Operate around industrial equipment.
- Shift up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week; travel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
