Run Plant Engineer
Location:
Richmond, VA
Job Type: Full‑time, Onsite
Pay Range: $80,000.00/yr - $/yr
Qualifications- BS (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) required.
- 2-7 years of manufacturing or related experience required.
- Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process / Low Hazard Operation) experience preferred.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience beneficial.
- Continuous Improvement beneficial.
- Possess a strong sense of ownership and be accountable for the success and failure of the assigned unit.
- Show courageous leadership by coaching, asking questions, and intervening when needed; challenge status quo to improve effectiveness and safety.
- Role model professionalism and behaviors expected in the plant to influence culture.
- Learn and apply continuous improvement, value creation, and financial acumen to accelerate profitability and low‑cost service.
- Understand customer needs and drive high levels of quality, responsiveness, and reliability.
- Know the daily unit profits, margins from the production slate, and work to maximize total margin.
- Know the total cost (raw material, conversion cost, etc.) and work to improve cost position and EBITDA generation.
- Set up metrics and management systems to drive optimization of plant value/EBITDA across all operations.
- Earning respect and trust from operations team through problem‑solving skills and technical expertise.
- Apply deep knowledge of plant and technology; study historical data and collaborate with subject‑matter experts.
- Ensure manufacturing technology and process automation are utilized to optimize performance.
- Partner with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve operating discipline; diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses.
- Understand procedure steps and precautions; maintain strong field presence to reinforce importance.
- Conduct daily logbook and alarm history reviews and maintain KPIs/trends.
- Work with Production Coordinator to determine production capabilities.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Production Planning to optimize production schedule.
- Convert business plan into daily operating plan.
- Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies; act as unit technical expert during unplanned events.
- Provide leadership, expertise, diagnosis, and optimization in raw material efficiency, yield or waste.
- Ensure compliance with plant operating permits.
- Understand site integration and contribute to overall system optimization.
