The Maintenance Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining a wide range of production equipment, including paper cup and bowl forming machines, die‑cutting systems, clamshell and tray manufacturing lines, flexographic printing equipment, and automation technologies. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment with a strong focus on sustainability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain all Sabert production equipment in optimal operating condition.
- Perform tooling changes and machine setups in alignment with production requirements, including adjustments for various paper cup and bowl forming applications.
- Monitor machine efficiency and product quality; proactively troubleshoot and correct mechanical, electrical, or process issues.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Qualify machines and fine‑tune operating parameters when running different raw materials or material variations.
- Conduct daily inspections and report any conditions that may affect safety, quality, or productivity.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying root causes and implementing long‑term corrective actions.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs) are updated and documented.
- Train operators and other team members on routine equipment checks, safe operation, and basic maintenance practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance or production equipment support.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on experience in troubleshooting, repair, and machine adjustments.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety, lockout/tagout procedures, and quality compliance.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance work order systems.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekend schedules as needed.
- Experience working with high‑speed paper cup or bowl forming equipment (PMC, Horauf, Hyunjin, etc.).
- Familiarity with flexographic printing systems and automation upgrades.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (sensors, motors, heaters, PLC interfaces).
- Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement training.
- Prior experience in packaging, paper converting, or food‑service manufacturing industries.
- Fast‑paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Regular exposure to machinery, moving parts, noise, heat, and industrial materials.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
- Collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams on daily activities and improvement projects.
