ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary — The Operations Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of operations and production on a portfolio of maintenance accounts, including labor, materials, and equipment. This role reports to the Branch Manager and oversees a book of business with a minimum value of $1 Million.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities —
- Support company vision, policies, procedures, safety/training programs; communicate and model these to other employees.
- Review job specifications and ensure compliance with quality and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate with the management team to map seasonal work schedules; develop, communicate, and maintain maintenance schedules; coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Inspect equipment and vehicles to ensure proper maintenance.
- Respond to client requests in a timely manner; manage operational issues and implement proactive, creative solutions; work with Client Management to resolve concerns when applicable.
- Manage budgets and monitor job cost reports; report to crews to improve productivity and profitability; plan for maximum efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Lead multiple teams; assist in hiring and onboarding; provide coaching and development; implement performance improvement processes when needed.
- Train employees on safety, quality, and efficiency; ensure adherence to job requirements.
- Work with the Branch Manager to lead the branch and meet monthly budgets.
- Quality Control Audits: 90% or better
- Safety Inspections: 100% complete, 90% passing or better
- Contract Renewal: 95% or better
- Quality jobs completed on time within budgeted hours
- Customer surveys show favorable remarks
- Equipment inspections show maintenance program adherence
- Crew safety and efficiency in line with company standards
- Accountability and leadership among crew leaders
- Best practices in time tracking, purchase orders, and scheduling
- Minimum: high school diploma or GED;
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred - 2–5 years of supervisory/managerial experience with demonstrated ability to train, develop employees; general knowledge of irrigation systems and turf management
- Experience with Aspire Landscape Operating System preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and work concurrently
- Excellent problem‑solving skills
- Independent work style with high accountability
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills across all levels
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Willingness to travel between client sites and training locations
- Valid driver’s license with a reasonably clean record
