CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

If you re a Project Manager who s tired of living in reaction mode — chasing fires, fixing avoidable problems, and carrying stress that shouldn t exist — this role was built for you.

At Urban Core, we believe planning and discipline create freedom. When projects are planned well and executed with intention, our teams can do great work and have a life outside of it. We don t glorify chaos. We operate within systems that protect our people, our partners, and our projects.

We re looking for a Project Manager who values structure, accountability, and respect — and who wants to run work with clarity instead of chaos.

What Its Like To Work Here

Urban Core is a highly collaborative environment built on respect for the work, the plan, and the people doing it. Most construction environments accept chaos as part of the job. We don t. We set clear expectations, plan work intentionally, and drive accountability without blame.

When We Plan And Execute Well, Our Teams

  • Do better work.
  • Create flexibility through discipline.
  • Protect their time and energy, controlling their day and enjoying time off.
  • Deliver consistent results.
The Role

As a Project Manager, you are the connector between people, plans, and outcomes. You don t just manage tasks; you ll lead execution from preconstruction turnover through closeout by translating plans into predictable field execution, leading teams with clarity by maintaining structure and visibility across all phases of the work, protecting the project and the team from unnecessary chaos, and owning outcomes including schedule, cost, quality, and relationships.

This role is best suited for someone who believes that calm, disciplined leadership produces better results than constant reaction.

Responsibilities Project Execution & Planning
  • Lead structured project planning that reflects real field conditions, not wishful thinking
  • Maintain alignment between schedules, milestones, and day-to-day execution
  • Identify risks early and drive proactive solutions
  • Use plans and schedules as tools to communicate priorities and commitments
Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead project teams with calm, disciplined leadership
  • Foster a collaborative environment built on trust, respect, and shared accountability
  • Support and coordinate with superintendents, project teams, and partners
  • Set clear expectations and follow through consistently
Financial & Contract Management
  • Own the financial health of your project including budget, forecasting, billing, and change management
  • Ensure contracts, scopes, and buyout are clear, complete, and aligned
  • Manage change proactively and transparently to protect relationships and profitability
Owner & Partner Relationships
  • Build trust through clear expectations, consistent communication, and follow-through
  • Translate complex project information into clear, actionable updates
  • Address challenges early with solutions, not surprises
Closeout & Project Finish
  • Drive projects to clean, professional closeout (financially complete, documented, and accepted)
  • Finish projects in a way that strengthens relationships and sets up repeat work
You ll Thrive In This Role If You
  • Are disciplined, organized, and intentional about how work gets done
  • Believe strong planning reduces stress, not slows things down
  • Take ownership and follow through on commitments
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully
  • Stay calm and solution-oriented when conditions change
  • Respect the people doing the work

This role is not for someone who prefers to  wing it  instead of planning.

Experience
  • 3+ years of Construction Project Management experience. Multifamily experience strongly preferred; affordable housing experience a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction documents and project workflows.
  • Procore Experience preferred, but not required.

If you want to build meaningful projects, lead with clarity, and grow into the next stage of your career we d like to hear from you.
