The Area Manager oversees a portfolio of properties, ensuring strong financial performance, high occupancy, and operational excellence. This role partners closely with the Regional Manager to lead teams, manage budgets, support site staff, and drive efficiency across properties.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple properties
- Monitor occupancy, collections, vacancies, and financial performance
- Prepare, manage, and monitor property budgets and monthly reports
- Lead and support site teams through hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, landlord-tenant laws, and company policies
- Support marketing strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue
- Resolve resident concerns and assist with complex issues
- Conduct property inspections and staff meetings
- Participate in special projects as assigned
- Strong understanding of property management operations and regulations
- Budgeting, reporting, and financial oversight experience
- Leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Community Manager
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Ability to travel and work after hours for emergencies as needed
