The Virginia Department of Elections (ELECT) is seeking a Project Manager for the implementation of the Statewide Voter Registration System (SVRS). SVRS is a statewide voter registration and election management system. This is a high‑risk project that requires strict adherence to the requirements in this posting. The position is in‑office; the selected candidate will work at ELECT offices in Richmond, VA.
There is no hybrid or remote option.
SVRS is a high‑risk project with high visibility and significant complexity, therefore the SVRS Project Manager will be required to work in a fast‑paced, potentially stressful environment. Relevant experience in similar environments should be clearly documented in the applicant’s resume.
ABOUTTHEROLEThe Virginia Department of Elections (ELECT) is seeking a Project Manager to lead the implementation of the Statewide Voter Registration System (SVRS). This position requires strict adherence to project requirements and will be performed in an office setting in Richmond, VA with no remote or hybrid option.
Responsibilities- Daily interaction with stakeholders, project team members, and ELECT staff.
- Attendance at virtual and in‑person project meetings daily.
- Management of project performance metrics and recording of data in CTP.
- Adherence to the requirements of the Commonwealth Project Management Standard.
- Work in conjunction with members of the ELECT SVRS project team.
- Oversight coordination of the SVRS project calendar.
- Conduct briefings on SVRS project status to internal and external audiences, including the Interagency Oversight Committee.
- Active Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Please upload a copy in vector format; otherwise it will not be considered.
- Successful completion of a Category 1 or 2 Commonwealth of Virginia project of $5M or more, or completion of a non‑COV project with a value greater than $10M as PM of record.
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarization with the Commonwealth Technology Portfolio highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent client‑facing and internal communication skills, written and verbal.
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with Commonwealth Project Management (CPM) methodologies in large‑scale projects, and minimum of 10 years of experience as a PMP or ACP.
