What You Get To Do

  • Oversee execution of geotechnical projects to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates, ensuring proper project scoping, pricing, and resource planning.
  • Drive business development initiatives with support from the Office Manager to identify and win new work.
  • Develop staffing plans and oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of department hires.
  • Monitor department operations, safety compliance, resource utilization, and employee performance.
  • Execute annual business plan; manage department metrics such as revenue growth, project profitability, and client satisfaction.
  • Identify project risks and apply company risk mitigation policies as needed.
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality, promoting pre-task planning and safe work practices.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet internal and client-specific quality standards.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology.
  • Minimum 5 years of geotechnical design experience.
  • Prior department or team management experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
  • Must be able to respond promptly and decisively in emergency situations.

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Active PE license.
  • Professional certification or licensure in a specialty area (e.g., GE, PG, CEG).
