Estate Planning & Elder Law Paralegal.
Prospect Blue has partnered with a boutique law practice in Richmond, VA and is seeking an experienced estate planning & elder law paralegal. The ideal candidate is highly skilled and detail-oriented with experience in estate planning, trusts, and probate. Exposure to elder law and Medicaid planning is a plus. This is an in-office position with competitive compensation and benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and related instruments.
- Assist with the preparation of Medicaid Asset Protection Trusts (MAPTs), deeds, and advanced estate documents (training provided as needed).
- Manage client communications, guide clients through the estate planning process, and coordinate meetings and signings.
- Support probate administration, including preparation of inventories, accountings, and related filings.
- Maintain accurate and organized client files (digital and physical) and ensure compliance with deadlines.
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to improve systems, templates, and workflows.
- Contribute to the firm’s elder law and Medicaid planning services.
- Five years of paralegal experience in estate planning, trusts, and probate (required).
- Experience with elder law, Medicaid planning, or probate is highly desirable.
- Strong drafting, writing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with legal technology, including Clio, document automation, and CRM tools (training provided).
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
