Our client, an AV-rated regional insurance defense law firm, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney (1-5 years) to join its Workers' Compensation practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with strong academic credentials, solid litigation experience, and effective communication skills to grow within a respected and well-established firm.
Qualifications- 1-5 years of experience handling workers' compensation matters
- Experience across all phases of workers' compensation litigation, including:
- Pretrial motions
- Depositions
- Expert witnesses
- Trial preparation
- Some civil litigation experience is a plus
- Active Virginia Bar admission required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage and track billable hours accurately in compliance with firm and client requirements
- Case evaluation and legal analysis
- Legal research and regulatory compliance
- Drafting briefs, pleadings, and discovery
- End-to-end case management (from opening through hearing)
- Client consultations and witness interviews
- Advocacy on behalf of clients through depositions, hearings, and settlement negotiations
