Technology Procurement Specialist

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Technology Procurement Specialist based in Richmond, VA to support enterprise IT sourcing initiatives with a strong focus on software, cybersecurity‑related solutions, and technical professional services. This role requires 5+ years of hands‑on experience as a technology‑focused procurement specialist, with a proven IT procurement background that includes complex software negotiations, vendor management, and independently leading full, end‑to‑end RFP processes.

This includes requirements gathering, authoring detailed scopes of work, vendor evaluation, and contract award. The role requires strong experience negotiating technical professional services agreements such as implementation, consulting, and managed services, as well as the ability to draft customized scopes of work and contract language without reliance on standard templates. A solid understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, and information security requirements as they relate to IT procurement is essential.

Experience must extend beyond catalog purchasing or limited RFP participation, with demonstrated ownership of full sourcing and contracting activities. Compensation for this role ranges from $38.46/hour to $48.08/hour, based on experience.

Skills and Requirements

-5+ years of hands‑on experience as a Technology Procurement Specialist with a proven IT procurement background, including complex software negotiations and vendor management across IT, software, and technical professional service

• Demonstrated experience independently leading full, end‑to‑end RFP processes, including requirements gathering, authoring complete scopes of work, vendor evaluation, and contract award

• Strong experience negotiating technical professional services agreements (e.g., implementation, consulting, managed services)

• Ability to draft customized scopes of work and contract language without reliance on standard templates

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, and information security requirements as they relate to IT procurement

Experience beyond catalog purchasing or limited RFP participation; must have owned full sourcing and contracting activities
