Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead Agile and Kanban adoption within a network operations environment undergoing transformation from traditional delivery models. This role is focused on enabling flow-based delivery, operational agility, and continuous improvement for teams that manage high volumes of unplanned work, incidents, and mission-critical infrastructure services. The ideal candidate brings deep experience applying Agile, Kanban, and Lean principles in operational, infrastructure, and production support settings, not just software development.

This individual will design and implement a tailored Kanban system aligned to incident response, change management, and operational support workflows, while coaching teams and stakeholders through Agile maturity, sustainable delivery practices, and cultural change. This role partners closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to improve visibility, predictability, and performance using data-driven metrics, scaled Agile planning, and enterprise tooling (Jira Software and Jira Align).

Success in this position requires strong facilitation, systems thinking, and the ability to stabilize delivery in fast-paced, high-severity operational environments while fostering accountability, collaboration, and resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the adoption and implementation of Agile and Kanban practices within a network operations team transitioning from traditional delivery models
  • Design and optimize a Kanban system tailored to network operations, including workflow states aligned to incident response, change management, and operational support processes
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies appropriate for operations teams (e.g., stand-ups, retrospectives, service delivery reviews, backlog refinement)
  • Guide the team in effectively managing high severity incidents, outage recovery efforts, maintenance windows, and emergency changes without compromising overall workflow stability
  • Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles, flow-based delivery, and operational agility
  • Partner with leadership to align team objectives with organizational goals and scaled planning structures within Jira Align
  • Implement metrics and reporting that support operational transparency, including cycle time, lead time, throughput, aging work, and capacity trends
  • Guide the team in managing unplanned work and high-severity incidents without disrupting overall flow and commitments
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and adaptability within a fast-paced network operations environment
  • Ensure Jira Software and Jira Align are effectively utilized to provide visibility into work intake, prioritization, dependencies, and outcomes
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying process bottlenecks, reducing work-in-progress overload, and improving response and recovery times
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across network, infrastructure, and production support functions to improve coordination and delivery
Qualifications
  • 3‑6+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, with demonstrated expertise in Scrum and Kanban practices
  • Proven experience leading Agile transformations within operational, infrastructure, or production support environments (not limited to software development)
  • Experience supporting network operations teams, with familiarity in enterprise networking concepts (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc.) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of flow-based systems, Kanban principles, and Lean practices, particularly in environments with high levels of unplanned work
  • Experience implementing Agile practices for teams new to Agile methodologies
  • Hands‑on experience with Jira Software and Jira Align, including backlog management, workflow configuration, reporting, and metrics tracking
  • Experience operating within scaled Agile environments (e.g., SAFe or equivalent frameworks)
  • Demonstrated ability to coach teams through Agile maturity, continuous improvement, and sustainable delivery practices
  • Strong understanding of incident management, operational risk, and high‑severity event coordination
  • Experience supporting network, infrastructure, or IT operations teams preferred
  • Agile certifications preferred (e.g., CSM, CSP, PMI-ACP, ICA-ACC, or equivalent)
