Systems Administrator - III

The Systems Administrator III (Middleware) will be responsible for installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining middleware platforms, including Web Sphere Application Server (WAS), Web Sphere Liberty, and related infrastructure.

This role includes supporting high-availability architectures, performing system integration activities, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring secure, reliable middleware operations across virtual machines and containerized environments.

• Deploy new technologies and perform system integration testing for server operating systems, middleware platforms, utilities, and hardware.
• Install, configure, maintain, and administer Web Sphere Application Server (Network Deployment and Base editions).
• Design and implement high-availability architectures including clustering, load balancing, and failover configurations.
• Manage enterprise repositories for Web Sphere and IHS binaries.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and support version migration activities.
• Deploy and maintain Web Sphere Liberty on traditional virtual machines.
• Support containerized Liberty environments using Podman and orchestrate Liberty workloads on Open Shift Container Platform.
• Customize server configurations to meet diverse application requirements.
• Troubleshoot server issues reported by users and perform root-cause analysis.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend hardware and software solutions.
• Support web access, electronic messaging services, and maintain a secure systems environment.
• Provide hardware specifications based on application requirements and future capacity planning.
• Install new servers and maintain the overall server infrastructure.

• Experience in Web Sphere Application Server management.
• Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Web Sphere Network Deployment and Base editions.
• Knowledge of high-availability architecture design including clustering, load balancing, and failover.
• Experience managing enterprise repositories for Web Sphere and IHS binaries.
• Strong skills in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and version migration strategy development.
• Experience deploying and maintaining Web Sphere Liberty on VMs.
• Understanding of containerized Liberty environments using Podman.
• Experience orchestrating Liberty workloads in Open Shift Container Platform.
• Ability to customize server configurations for varied application needs.
