SummaryAs an Application Support Specialist at Universal, you will serve as a key liaison between business users and technology, ensuring enterprise applications are supported, enhanced, and delivered reliably. The role focuses on managing and resolving support requests, translating issues into formal change requests, and collaborating with senior team members when escalation is required. You will contribute to the development, testing, documentation, and deployment of application enhancements within a Microsoft .NET
environment, while adhering to established coding and architectural standards. In addition, you will partner directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate timelines, and create clear functional and technical documentation that enables effective application use and long‑term support.
- Manage all support requests promptly through the Fresh Service ticketing system.
- Manage the transition of support tickets into formal application change requests as well as escalation of support requests to senior team members as applicable.
- Create documentation for key support tasks in order to build out a guide for critical application support.
- Create functional documentation to assist users in effectively navigating and using applications.
- Ability to handle .Net development tasks as assigned following all coding and architecture standards.
- Create, Test, Document, and Deploy high‑quality project deliverables.
- Work directly with business users to gather requirements, set timelines, and effectively communicate delivery of items as they are completed.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
- 1 to 3+ years of experience supporting and/or developing applications on the framework using or equivalent training/internship work.
- Core experience and knowledge in the following areas:
- Full functional and technical application support
- Developing web applications using ASP.Net Web Forms, MVC and/or .Net Core
- and Entity Framework or comparable ORM
- SQL Server 2016+
- T‑SQL
- Azure Dev Ops, TFVC, GIT and Git Hub
- Experience writing detailed functional and technical documentation.
- Strong communication, organizational and time management skills. Will work regularly with colleagues, users and stakeholders where English is not their first language.
- Ability to work and solve problems independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to work in an agile development environment and take proactive approach to completing backlog work.
- Experience with SQL Server SSIS, SSRS, and/or SSAS.
- Experience using third party ASP.Net control suites such as Telerik.
