OverviewBusiness Data Analyst opportunity located in Richmond, VA. This is a contract position.
Responsibilities- The Business Data Analyst will support cloud financial operations (Fin Ops) by monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing cloud spend across AWS and Azure environments.
- This role requires strong financial analysis experience within a technology organization, expertise in cloud cost management, and the ability to translate technical data into business insights for leadership.
- 4+ years of experience in a financial analysis role within a technology department.
- 2+ years of experience in Cloud Fin Ops.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
- 2+ years of customer service experience.
- Strong data analysis skills using Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Experience with AWS Cost Explorer and Azure Cost Management tools.
- Familiarity with Fin Ops governance frameworks, cost optimization strategies, and cost allocation methodologies.
- Experience with cloud cost management tools such as Cloudability and Apptio.
- Experience in multi-cloud environments.
- Comfortable presenting findings to senior leadership.
- Programming experience in Python.
- Fin Ops Practitioner Certification.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification.
- Additional AWS or Azure certifications.
- Experience working in SAFe Agile environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Engineering, and Leadership teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
