Position Summary

The Senior Product Configuration Analyst role is a technical position that is engaged in the detailed research and analysis of product specifications in order to effectively design and configure components in our insurance processing system.

Primary Duties
  • Work to thoroughly understand requirements whether based on rating or product manuals as well as end user scoping sessions to effectively configure these items in the system.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of business activities and operating processes before product configuration work begins.
  • Work closely with the business sponsors and stakeholders to define requirements and configure product.
  • Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Demonstrate ability to articulate and resolve all delegated problems with minimal assistance from management.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the configuration tool capabilities when designing and implementing features to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
  • Collaborate effectively with other system configurators.
  • Demonstrate a growing skillset in the design tools provided to build system components including but not limited to rating, screens, and output.
  • Develop functional design specifications and/or technical design documents as needed.
  • Respond to client inquiries and requests regarding configured functionality and usage. Troubleshoot issues, provide guidance, and offer solutions to ensure client satisfaction and effective utilization of the software.
  • Assist in any required analysis to determine high level impacts associated with the migration of data between technologies.
  • Identify third party integrations and participate in the workflow analysis and requirements documentation.
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance checks throughout the configuration process ensuring accuracy of logic and functionality. Identify and report any bugs, errors, or issues utilizing Jira.
  • Embrace utilization of Agile methodologies throughout the workstream process.
  • Strive to implement MVP’s (Minimum Viable Product) for complex components to speed time to market.
  • Utilize Jira to capture all User Stories, Issues and Bugs along with estimating and tracking effort.
Minimum Education / Experience Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems / Computer Science / Business or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years business analysis experience.
  • 5 years experience configuring insurance processing systems.
Minimum Skill Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a flexible attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Experience utilizing Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience creating Word templates.
  • Basic understanding of databases and SQL, with the ability to query and manipulate data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPCU designation.
  • Extensive P&C Insurance product experience.
  • Extensive experience utilizing Finys for other insurance processing systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance systems and business processes.
  • Experience or certification in Agile.
  • Finys Design Studio Experience.
