About the Opportunity

We seek a senior‑level cloud engineer with experience delivering systems in a fast‑paced agile environment. This hands‑on role involves consulting, advising, and designing AWS solutions to meet infrastructure requirements across multiple technical and business application projects.

This is an in‑office role that reports to a district reserve bank location.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and participate in consulting activities, advisory, and documentation tasks in partnership with NIT, Cloud Foundation Teams, and district stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cloud teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements and advise on efficient, cost‑effective AWS–based solutions.
  • Guide and implement the selection and deployment of AWS services, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and security compliance.
  • Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and optimization of the internal cloud environment.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert on enterprise engineering best practices for cloud computing.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and eventual solution build of a High Performance Computing (HPC) research platform.
  • Design and implement scalable, fault‑tolerant, and secure AWS infrastructure and applications using IaC principles.
  • Automate deployment, testing, and monitoring through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues using AWS services such as Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, IAM, EC2, Parallel Cluster, Lambda, ECS Fargate, etc.
  • Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of AWS‑based applications.
  • Implement security and governance controls to ensure integrity and compliance.
  • Continuously improve Dev Sec Ops  processes and toolchain.
  • Develop problem resolution for application software as needed.
  • Lead complex technical projects with FRIT/System staff and resources.
  • Enforce adherence to technical standards and train staff on software/hardware tool usage.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements and Information Security Manual guidelines.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and related functional areas.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor to broad audiences and present information confidently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact courteously with anticipated audiences.
  • Proven track record working effectively in large enterprise environments with matrix reporting.
  • AWS Associate or Professional certifications strongly preferred.
