BI DEVELOPER

The Business Intelligence (BI) developer role works within a team of skilled professionals in the analysis, design and development of BI solutions, working closely with business and IT partners to transform requirements into effective solutions, leveraging their expertise in Business Objects (BOBJ) R3.1 or R4 Universe design, Web Intelligence (Webi), Xcelsius (Dashboards), Crystal Reports, and SQL programming. The BI developer also provides consultative services and support to other departments within Client on the topics of reporting and data management best practices and standards.

The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate these following skills and traits:

Recognized expertise with SAP Business Objects XI 3.1 or 4.0 Universe design and report development using Web Intelligence (Webi) XI 3.1 or 4.0 is essential.

Development experience with Xcelsius or Business Objects Dashboards and Crystal Reports is very helpful.

In-depth understanding of the design and development methodologies for creating Business Intelligence solutions in large companies using SQL data warehouses, particularly Teradata.

Excellent communications: demonstrated experience in dealing directly with business partners, translating requirements into technical specifications.

Is result-oriented and has the ability to execute the assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Can deliver sophisticated technical information to a broader audience beyond the team while influencing within the team.

Demonstrates the ability to move from one assignment to the next; work environment and priorities can change quickly depending on business needs.

Experience with migrating reporting from Business Objects 3.1 to 4.0 or from Cognos to Business Objects is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree

- 5+ years experience in SAP Business Objects BI solutions (Universe design, Web Intelligence, Xcelsius / Dashboards and Crystal Reports) and SQL programming.

- 2+ years experience with Dimensional Modeling and Business Intelligence design concepts and methodology.

- 1+ year of experience in the Application development life cycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or Engineering.

- 7+ years experience with SAP Business Objects.

- 2+ years experience with SQL programming.

- 3+ years of experience in Database architecture and data modeling.

- 2+ years of experience in Application development life cycle.
