Responsibilities
- Develop and champion a bold, long-term product strategy for Autonomous Deployments, connecting your vision to measurable improvements in release velocity, application stability, and developer productivity across the enterprise
- Build, lead, and mentor a world-class team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation and execution excellence focused on solving complex developer challenges
- Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle for intelligent, automated validation capabilities that build developer confidence and reduce reliance on manual testing
- Partner closely with senior leaders in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, and lines of business to ensure the solutions you build meet the complex quality, security, and operational needs of the enterprise
- Define, monitor, and evangelize key performance indicators that measure the impact of autonomous deployments, such as release velocity, change failure rates, and developer satisfaction
- Work across the company to reimagine and design solutions that may defy organizational boundaries, ensuring the entire organization adopts a rapid test-and-learn approach
- Be accountable for identifying and managing platform investment and key risk decisions to deliver a well-managed platform that enables higher quality and more resilient applications
In this role, you'll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas which we consider to be the foundation for successful Product management:

- At least 9 years of experience working in Product Management
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
- A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
- 5+ years of experience leading and mentoring teams of product managers
- Experience with developer platforms, Dev Ops tools, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, or large-scale enterprise platforms, particularly for internal developer customers
- Deep expertise in the modern software development lifecycle (SDLC), including release engineering, progressive delivery, quality assurance, and automated testing principles
- Proven experience translating complex business strategy and technical challenges into a clear, data-driven product roadmap
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and risk management
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of engaging and influencing senior executives
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Chicago, IL: $240,300 - $274,300 for Sr. Dir, Product Management
McLean, VA: $264,300 - $301,700 for Sr. Dir, Product Management
New York, NY: $288,400 - $329,100 for Sr. Dir, Product Management
Plano, TX: $240,300 - $274,300 for Sr. Dir, Product Management
Richmond, VA: $240,300 - $274,300 for Sr. Dir, Product Management
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
