Job Description Summary

Position allows hybrid work options for a flexible work environment. We are recruiting for an experienced IT Data and AI Analytics Program Manager who will be part of our Enterprise Analytics (EA) and Project Management Office (PMO). The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise in data analytics, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence solutions to lead strategic, high‑visibility initiatives. In this role, you will oversee complex, multi‑workstream projects that transform how our organization leverages data to drive decisions, improve outcomes, and unlock innovation.

You will partner closely with data scientists, engineers, analysts, and business leaders to ensure successful delivery of advanced analytics and AI capabilities—from concept to production to KPI attainment—while aligning with enterprise strategy, governance, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in managing large‑scale data and AI programs, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to bridge technical depth with executive‑level influence.

The EA team is in a growth mode with the team implementing a modern data platform recently, setting up AI and Data Governance programs and upskilling to meet the growing needs of our organization. There’s never been a better time than now to be part of this team of highly skilled individuals.

Essential Job Statements
  • Responsible for program portfolio desired outcomes through day‑to‑day administration and management of the program's scope, schedule, quality, communication & stakeholder management, risk management, change management, resource and financial management.
  • Collaborate with health system and departmental leadership to develop the overall approach for the assigned program, its major time frames, dependencies, and the definition of program value deliverables.
  • Facilitate communication between IT teams and operational stakeholders to build and maintain relationships across stakeholder communities and alignment for successful program outcomes.
  • Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of existing and developing technologies relevant to the assigned program to serve as domain knowledge resource for the program.
  • Direct the creation and maintenance of the required program documentation and artifacts.
  • Lead, collaborate, and mentor cross‑functional teams in support of complex enterprise solutions and programs.
  • Identify, develop, and execute cross‑functional continuous improvement programs framed by metrics illustrating effectiveness of the assigned program.
  • Demonstrate personal ownership and accountability for safety across the area of responsibility by role‑modeling daily key concepts of a high reliability organization as personal work habits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or participate in special projects to support the mission of VCUHS and the Department.
  • Ensure responsibility and visible commitment of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs/initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health.
Employment Qualifications

Required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Health Informatics, Business & Project Management, or Engineering & Data Analytics.

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Health Informatics, Business & Project Management, or Engineering & Data Analytics.

Licensing/ Certification

Licensure/Certification

Required:

PMP Certification or similar project management certification Scrum Master.

Licensure/Certification Preferred:
Lean Six Sigma (LSS).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience with organizational‑wide, complex programs with inter‑project dependencies. Working knowledge of associated implementation methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches.
