Overview
ECS is seeking a Scientific Product Advisor to work remotely supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) large-scale project. The role provides QA Analyst services to ensure quality across the full lifecycle of scientific products and solutions. You will partner with scientists and technical teams to validate requirements, review documentation, ensure compliance with quality standards, translate scientific needs into testable requirements, manage verification and validation activities, and support audits and continuous improvement.
Ideal candidates have QA expertise, a strong science background, and the ability to communicate effectively with scientific end-users.
- Provide QA analysis across the full lifecycle of scientific products and solutions.
- Translate scientific needs into testable requirements and validate requirements with stakeholders.
- Review documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Manage verification and validation activities and support audits and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with scientists and technical teams to ensure quality delivery.
- Supervisory: guide less-experienced team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology).
- 4+ years of experience in quality assurance, scientific analysis, or related lifecycle management roles.
- 2+ years of experience developing or integrating software for scientific applications (preferably Fortran/C/C++ in a Linux environment) to assess algorithm complexity and required effort.
- Demonstrated experience with quality management systems, risk assessments, and lifecycle documentation.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and scientific software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate complex scientific findings into clear recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with scientific data formats.
- Scripting language experience (Python preferred).
- Experience with Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools.
- Understanding of Agile life cycle processes and Dev Ops, including CI/CD concepts.
- Certification in Quality (e.g., ASQ) or Project Management (e.g., PMP).
- Remote/telework environment.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (Public Trust, Secret, or higher, depending on contract).
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer; ability to navigate facilities as needed.

Base pay range: $70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
