Job DescriptionThe Omni Richmond Hotel is looking for a customer-service, detailed-orientated individual to join the Sales and Convention Service team as the Group Rooms Coordinator. You will support the property by assisting Revenue Management, Sales and Convention Services with group communications, OPERA-related data entry and maintenance.
Job Type: FULL-TIME
Pay rate: $18.50 per hour
Responsibilities- General job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Working with the Convention Service Manager and Group Clients with group rooming lists, reservation changes, and group billing – according to contract and email history.
- Creating and maintaining group room blocks;
Ensuring all group reservations have correct billing, and all other necessary information. - Ensuring the group blocks are monitored correctly prior to, during, and post the group dates.
- Researching and charging for all no-shows, cancellations, and deposits.
- Completing Group Commission Report after the group’s departure.
- Monitoring Internet and FIT bookings, availability, and billing; completing commission payment requests accordingly.
- Researching outstanding Travel Agent Commissions for groups.
- Minimum 6 months front office or reservations experience required. Experience in hotel operations in other areas (rooms, accounting, sales/marketing) of greater duration will be considered.
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
- Must be able to analyze situations and make concise decisions that meet and exceed the expectations of the hotel.
- Strong attention to detail to minimize reservation errors.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on all assigned items, including guest requests and questions.
- Developed computer proficiencies; OPERA experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; may involve repetitive motion with telephone/computer use.
