Omni Richmond is seeking a Banquets Manager to join our outstanding banquets team. This vital role will work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage to oversee all operations relating to the Banquets department, resulting in high levels of guest satisfaction and associate development. The manager will ensure proper set up and service of all banquet functions, supervise banquet associates, maintain service standards, and train associates to deliver prompt, courteous service in accordance with Omni’s food and beverage standards and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Represent management at functions.
  • Determine set ups in conjunction with Sales Team Leaders.
  • Coordinate functions with service staff and Banquet Leadership.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction through effective supervision and delegation, food quality checks, and courtesy of the entire banquet staff.
  • Coordinate food costs with the Stewarding Department to recover leftover food and minimize waste.
  • Brief waiters on functions and procedures of service.
  • Establish high standards of quality service and maintain them through effective training and continuous upgrading.
  • Maintain equipment entrusted to care and keep it up.
  • Maintain records, reports, closing reports and payroll costs.
  • Inspect function rooms and write work orders for the Engineering Department to maintain rooms in excellent condition.
  • React to business fluctuations by increasing or decreasing staffing and operations as volume fluctuates up or down.
  • Maximize profits in the department through effective management techniques keeping guest satisfaction in mind at all times.
  • Keep updated in new food and wine trends; set the pace and example for successful quality operation.
  • Assist team with set‑up, break‑down, and execution of banquet functions as needed.
  • All other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a hotel banquet senior management position, in a high‑volume luxury hotel.
  • High School Degree or Equivalent;
    Some College Preferred.
  • Exceptional people skills.
  • Detail oriented, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform professionally under high levels of stress.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Ability to lift/pull/push/carry up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to stand/walk/sit/move for extended periods of time.
