We are seeking anArea Clinical Manager in Perfusionto join our dynamic team inRichmond, VAsupporting Bon Secours St. Mary's & Memorial Regional Hospitals! Specialty Care perfusionists have been providing clinical care at these institutions for over 30 years.
Our team consists offive (5) surgeons, one (1) Area Clinical Manager, and six (6)
Perfusionists. We perform all adult cardiac surgery procedures, except transplants. We are involved with TAVR and several hybrid procedures where we partner with cardiology and EP. We also have a growing VAD and ECMO program which includes a team of ECMO specialists who manage these patients on a day to day basis. We perform approximately 700cases per year.

Position Summary:
The Area Clinical Manager is responsible for one or more accounts or programs in a specific geographic area and may manage staff, productivity, scheduling, inventory, physician relations, and clinical activities to achieve or exceed operational and financial targets. Performs clinical services on a regular basis and manages clinical associates at the accounts or programs to achieve targeted quality outcomes and compliance with The Joint Commission standards, the Company’s policies, applicable policies at the accounts or programs, and other applicable regulatory requirements including lab compliance.
Assists the Company with evaluating techniques and equipment for clinical applications. Assists Regional Director of Operations and Region Presidents in building and maintaining business relationships with customers and physicians to retain and grow accounts. Serves as liaison to the Company’s business office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the day-to-day clinical activities at the accounts or programs that may include but not be limited to the following:
- Coordinates the scheduling of clinical associates, including vacation scheduling.
- Manages productivity, labor and the budget for the accounts to meet or exceed targets.
- Collects and reports quality indicator data as required. Demonstrates quality improvement. Performs perfusion and other clinical services on a regular basis.
- Monitors clinical activities to comply with:
- The Joint Commission standards;
- The Company’s policies;
- Applicable policies at the account(s) or program(s); and
- Other applicable regulatory requirements including laboratory compliance.
- Monitors equipment operations and maintenance requirements.
- Serves as lead perfusionist at the accounts or programs for customers, physicians, vendors, and the Company’s business office associates.
