The Chaplain Hourly provides chaplaincy service to patients, families and staff of the VCU Medical Center.

• Responds to requests for chaplaincy services/spiritual care.
• Consults with department staff chaplains in complex patient care situations.
• Ability to triage requests and multi-task.

• Experience REQUIRED
  :
  One (1) full-time year post-Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) chaplaincy experience, which may include second year residency.
• Experience PREFERRED
  :
  Experience as a Chaplain in an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center.

• Education/training REQUIRED
  : 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The most recent unit of CPE must have been completed in the last 7 years.
• Education/training PREFERRED
  :
  Two to three units of CPE through ACPE;
  Training at a level-1 trauma center and/or pediatric hospital.

• Scheduled to work based on departmental needs including day of requests.
