Overview

The Virginia League for Planned Parenthood is seeking a AB Services Affiliate Trainer to join our team! VLPP Affiliate Trainers provide quality reproductive and sexual health care and exceptional patient experience by developing and delivering effective training and resources for new and established health center staff e roles and responsibilities include onboarding health center staff in abortion services and participating in collaborative partnerships, education, and competency management.

This position specializes in training and onboarding clinical support staff (HCAs) within VLPP to medication and procedural abortion care including consent and education, room assisting and instrument processing using PPFA CAPS curriculum. The Affiliate Trainer may also serve as an ultrasound preceptor following staff participation in the CAPS Ultrasound Training Program.

Qualifications

We are seeking an Affiliate Trainer experienced within training, education, and/or facilitation. Able to self-motivate, work independently and function well as a team member. Able to work in and manage a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while affording attention to detail and organization. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact within all levels of the organization.

Education / Certification Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all training is scheduled, coordinated, communicated and delivered in compliance with State, Federal, PPFA and other requirements and deadlines.
  • Use existing CAPS Abortion School materials to train, mentor and coach staff in performing their job functions as well as working within health centers to train staff on abortion consent and education, room assisting and instrument processing.
  • Works with organizational staff and leadership to understand and assess needs and develops appropriate interventions and materials.
  • Formulates and implements evaluation systems to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of training being provided for clinical support staff.
  • Promotes standardization of evidence-based and/or best clinical practice. Coaches employees and/or works with site leadership to coach employees when they observe practices varying from standard.
  • Improve and/or design suitable training content and programs to enhance learning, improve productivity, and meet organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs and initiatives.
  • Utilize technological tools (MS Office Suite, Zoom, Kahoot, etc) to facilitate training across the agency, which include visual and print materials that are clear and effective.
  • Assist in the selection and development of teaching aids (CAL, webinars, curricula, etc) for various training.
  • Monitor and communicate employee progress through training, including the role of the managers in overseeing timely completion. This includes the collection of onboarding items, annual trainings, evaluations, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Pay

Starting pay for this position is between $46,000 - $55,248 annually.

Schedule

Full-time, 40/hrs a week; typical working hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm. This position will support all VLPP clinics and travel across clinics is required.
