Behavioral Health Technician - Full Time/Part-Time/PRN at CRi - Community Residences, Inc.
CRi is a non-profit organization with locations in Northern VA, Richmond VA, and Maryland. A new Forensic Mental Health program is opening in our Richmond location. We are hiring Full Time, Part Time, and PRN Behavioral Health Technicians to support individuals with mental health disorders in a forensic setting as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care and supervision to individuals with mental health disorders in a compassionate and therapeutic manner.
- Implement and monitor treatment plans as outlined by the clinical team, ensuring individualized needs are met.
- Employ de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to assess and address behavioral concerns, promoting a therapeutic and supportive environment.
- Administer prescribed medications as per established protocols, ensuring accuracy and adherence to schedules; monitor and document responses and report any side effects to nursing/medical staff.
- Assist in facilitating therapeutic group activities, counseling sessions, and skill-building exercises; support evidence-based interventions and treatment modalities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes; report significant changes or incidents promptly to the supervisory team.
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other team members, and participate in team meetings, case conferences, and trainings.
- Implement safety protocols to maintain a secure environment and conduct regular facility checks to address potential safety hazards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and crises following established protocols to ensure safety of individuals and staff.
Employment Type
- Full Time (40 hours) and Part Time available; PRN/on-call options also available (varied schedules; not eligible for benefits).
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education or certification in psychiatric technology or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in mental health, forensic, or related settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, therapeutic techniques, and behavioral management strategies.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Requires light and/or heavy lifting, repetitive bending, sight, hearing, and ability to move with ease.
