Key Responsibilities & DutiesIn this role, you will be responsible for providing direct care, supervision, and support to participants during daily program activities, ensuring engagement, choice, and dignity at all times. Responsibilities include delivering age‑appropriate, purposeful activities; supporting skill development in areas such as social interaction, personal hygiene, and motor coordination; and implementing individualized training plans using approved techniques and interventions. DSPs collaborate closely with team members, encourage positive behavioral supports, accompany participants on community outings, and provide transportation when assigned.
Additional duties include personal care support, maintaining equipment and supplies, completing accurate and timely documentation, identifying program needs and solutions, participating in trainings and meetings, supporting volunteers and interns, and ensuring full compliance with all safety, HIPAA, and agency policies.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED; one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Related college coursework, disability‑specific training, medical training (such as a CNA license), or a combination of education and experience may substitute for the preferred experience. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to implement individualized plans, and a commitment to positive behavioral supports are essential.
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required for driving positions, along with successful completion of a SOAR
365 driving test if applicable. All DSPs must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications and demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and alignment with SOAR
365’s core values.
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS)
