RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement

• No guarantee of block scheduling

• Patient ratio of 5-6 patients to 1 nurse on 25-bed orthopedic unit

• Care for post-operative hip, knee, spine and other orthopedic procedure patients

• Use general nursing equipment specifically related to post-operative orthopedic care

• Document using Meditech system

• Float to like units (med surg) as needed

• Perform bedside shift reports and safety rounding (1 hour during day shift, 2 hours during night shift)

• Use AIDET communication method for all patient interactions

• Must have BLS certification and experience with post-operative patients

• Positive attitude required, Meditech experience preferred

• Dress code requires navy scrubs and closed-toe shoes

• No specific bedside or unit procedures performed

• No advanced skills required

This healthcare facility features a purpose-built orthopedic unit that is just over one year old, specializing in post-operative care for hip, knee, spine and other orthopedic procedures. The facility maintains TJC certification for its Hip and Knee Program and has received numerous Daisy and Bee award nominations. The unit is well-equipped with ample equipment to meet both patient and staff needs, and patient experience measurements from surgical patients consistently speak highly of the care provided.

The nursing staff includes experienced professionals with significant tenure, some with over 20 years of service.
